The Walk

WE WALK SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO

Jubilee Village Project’s Walk For Water is a unique fundraising event that spreads awareness of the world water crisis and helps provide safe water to people in need.

Walk For Water takes place in downtown IndianapolisDuring the 3-mile walk, participants carry a bucket of water to symbolize and experience the daily trek that women and children make each day to collect water in the village.

Starting at the American Legion Mall, walkers will take their empty 5 gallon buckets on a 1.5 mile route passing the Monument Circle to the Indianapolis Water Canal.  At the Canal, walkers will have their bucket filled and make the 1.5 mile return trip with their full bucket of water back to the American Legion Mall (see map below).

The goal of this year’s Walk For Water is to raise $100,000 Donations collected from the Walk will help fund a Community Safe Water Program to serve the 500 households and 3,000 people of Kager.

Walkers raise money as individuals, families or teams through pledge sponsors and their own personal contributions.  All walkers are challenged to set an ambitious goal of raising $500 each by having multiple people sponsor them walking (e.g. 20 people at $25 each, 10 people at $50 each)
